Neuropsychological basis of Senso-X7
Language processing relies on an extremely complex interplay of diverse neural processes. In order to adequately process incoming signals, the ability to correctly perceive rapidly successive acoustic events is of utmost importance. The rapid succession of sounds in the "sound stream" of a word or sentence makes it particularly difficult for many children with dyslexia and other speech disorders to keep up with language recognition, and they often struggle to correctly identify the sounds. However, if this perception process is already difficult, sufficient automation for the smooth functioning of written language cannot develop.
Training basic auditory parameters (low-level functions) can have a positive effect here, as facilitating perceptual processing can lead to a fundamental understanding of language. This can, for example, improve the ability to distinguish between short and long vowels and thus positively influence the ability to recognize double consonants. This means that in order to process language, the human ear is not solely responsible for analyzing frequencies or perceiving differences in volume. It is necessary to process dynamic changes in amplitude, frequency, and time at moderate volume levels. After all, language is essentially nothing more than a constant sequence of sounds. Therefore, we need a well-functioning temporal analysis system (Spreng 1984). This recognition system can create perceived language from the multitude of sounds. This must occur with tremendous precision and speed. Because, unlike the eye, the ear cannot "look" more than once.
The basis of phonemic awareness
When a child learns to read correctly, they must first distinguish specific events—namely, phonemes—from various sound clusters. They gradually develop what is known as phonemic awareness. A word is broken down into its phonemes—the individual sounds must be distinguished from the word "HUT," and the correct order must be observed. This only works if the auditory processing system is fast enough. Furthermore, the individual sounds, once reassembled, must clearly reveal the original word in its familiar sound pattern. With Senso-X7, you use computer software that enables intensive and effective auditory training.
- You are working on the basis - and not just on the symptoms
