The Neuro Alpha 4 features five Vie-LED modules that emit pulsed near-infrared light (810 nm) at a frequency of 10 Hz. The application is designed to avoid significant heat generation.

Near-infrared light is largely invisible. The design was engineered to achieve high optical performance (approximately 300 mW/cm² irradiance, 1000 mW per transcranial LED module, 5000–6000 mW total). See independent third-party test report .

CORE FUNCTIONS

Difference between Neuro Gamma and Neuro Alpha:

The Vielight Neuro Alpha is designed to deliver a high amount of energy from a pulsed near-infrared LED source, with microchip technology also being integrated into the intranasal diode.

The pulse frequency of 40 Hz is associated in scientific literature with gamma brain wave activity in the EEG, which is often associated with memory processes and cognitive functions.

The 10 Hz pulse frequency of the Vielight Neuro Alpha is often correlated in the literature with alpha brain waves, which in turn are associated with states of relaxation and recovery.

MEDICAL APPROVAL

The Vielight Neuro is not a medical device as defined by the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR). It is a photostimulation system for use in professional coaching and personal performance support. It is also suitable for non-medical studies using near-infrared light.

Its modular design with 5 Vie-LEDs allows targeted light application to specific areas of the brain –but with the safety of LEDs.

Vielight products are considered safe and generally well-tolerated. However, there are some contraindications and possible side effects you should be aware of:

Contraindications: We do not recommend using our devices if you have active cerebral hemorrhage or have suffered from epileptic seizures in the past. Pregnant women should seek medical advice before using photobiomodulation devices.

Possible side effects: Some users report mild and temporary sensations such as headaches, dizziness, or mild discomfort at the application site. These usually subside after a short time.

RECOMMENDED USE

The manufacturer recommends starting with the Neuro Alpha 4. Use every other day up to six times a week, depending on personal preference. Each session lasts 20 minutes.

I've been working with NFB for over three years now—sometimes more, sometimes less, but for the last two years almost daily. I've familiarized myself with the various manufacturers and suppliers.
