The Vielight is not a medical device, but a non-medical photostim system for professional coaching and advanced home training to improve memory and cognition, which can also be used for research using near-infrared light.

Vielight devices are designed for non-invasive use. However, there are certain limitations and precautions that should be observed.

Contraindications:

Use is not recommended for people with active cerebral hemorrhage or a history of epileptic seizures. Pregnant women should consult their doctor before using photobiomodulation devices.

Possible side effects:

In isolated cases, mild, temporary side effects such as headaches, dizziness, or mild discomfort at the application site have been reported. These symptoms usually resolve on their own.

The Vielight Vagus was developed to strengthen the connection between brain and body and improve the brain-gut axis.

Stimulation of the vagus nerve can also promote changes in the structure and function of the brain. A more active and responsive vagus nerve can lead to better heart rate regulation, improved digestion, and greater emotional resilience (memory, stress management, mental clarity, systemic fitness).

Does the vagus nerve provide nasal access to the brain?
Our patented intranasal photobiomodulation technology is one of the most effective methods to deliver near-infrared energy to the underside of the brain and support neuroplasticity.
The olfactory bulb (bulbus olfactorius) is directly connected to the brain regions that are important for storing long-term memories.
The ventromedial prefrontal cortex is crucial for cognitive processes.

What are the irradiance and wavelength of the vagus nerve?
- Double-sided neck modules (2): Wavelength 810 nm, irradiance 50 mW/cm²
- Intranasal applicator (1): Wavelength 810 nm, irradiance 25 mW/cm²
- Pulse frequency: 100 Hz, 50% duty cycle

RECOMMENDED USE

The manufacturer recommends using the device once a day, 6 days a week. Each session is set to 20 minutes.
