The natural fat and the stratum corneum of the skin often make optimal contact between the skin and the electrodes difficult, even with conductive gels. This results in inaccurate or even unmeasurable measurement results. To minimize this source of error, the skin should be degreased and roughened before applying the electrodes.OneStepAbrasivePlusBased on practical experience, it is a logical further development of our OneStep EEG Gel and features a larger grain size and a firmer consistency. For this reason, OneStep AbrasivePlus is particularly suitable for heavily calloused skin or excessive sweating, as well as for use with ECGs and long-term recordings.
Application
Please shake well before use!Apply approximately 5 g of gel to a suitable surface. Then, using a cotton swab, apply OneStep with light pressure and circular movements to the area where the electrodes are to be placed. OneStep is a ready-to-use gel that is applied directly to the skin. After the examination, the fabric coverings or electrodes are simply cleaned with water. Any remaining gel can be easily removed either with a little water or, after drying it in the patient's hair (EEG), with a comb or brush.
Advantages
Because OneStep contains no fat, alcohol, or dyes, it is easy to wash out, skin-friendly, and odorless. This ensures high acceptance among users and patients. Unlike alcohol-based or liquid EEG preparations, it ensures good and long-lasting conductivity (no evaporation of the alcohol content) and precise application to the scalp (semi-solid gel). This ensures optimal measurement results (very low measurement resistance of 2-5 kΩ). This has already been demonstrated in numerous applications. Due to these excellent physical properties, OneStep can be used for routine EEG and ECG recordings, as well as for recording long-term EEG and ECG, evoked potentials, and nerve conduction velocities.
Pack size
OneStepCleargel is manufactured to pharmaceutical GMP quality standards and is available in pack sizes of 500g, 1000g, and 4000g. It has a shelf life of 36 months.
Why OneStep?
Since previously only electrolyte- and/or water-based preparations were used to establish contact between the electrodes and the skin, the skin had to be prepared either manually using so-called roughening sticks or with a cleansing paste. Using OneStep eliminates the time-consuming preparation of the skin for subsequent recording, as the pumice stone contained in the recipe roughens the skin and frees it of its natural oils. At the same time, the electrolytes contained in the preparation ensure conductivity to the electrodes. Degreasing, roughening, and optimal conductivity are thus guaranteed by using just one gel and just one step. In addition to saving time for users and patients, additional costs for separate preparation of the scalp with additional products are eliminated.
